The 910R will outperform any commercially available 2.4GHz phone. The frequency on which it operates offers tremendous penetration power, making this unit an excellent choice for in building use. No one will be listening to your sensitive conversations thanks to the digital (military grade) frequency hopping system.
Each handset will accept up to 4 lines, simply add an additional base station for each line. The handset easily roams from base station to base station. Some customers have one base at work and another base at home. The handset automatically searches for the nearest base station on which to place a call. Up to 9 handsets may work off of a single base station.
A built in full duplex, digital two-way radio permits two-way radio communication between handsets - without tying up the phone line. The two-way radio between handsets works independently of the base unit giving the user more flexibility and freedom. An ear microphone jack allows the connection of most commercially available headsets.
The system simply plugs into a standard analog telephone jack and A/C outlet. An optional omni directional antenna is available, and runs from the base station to the user’s roof or other high altitude (for maximum range). The base unit operates as the command center of the system. Communication with an individual handset or any number of handsets is possible using the base station’s full duplex intercom. In a multiple handset system, the user can set a particular handset to receive an incoming call, or choose to have all handsets ring. A call can even be transferred to another handset in mid conversation. The handset to which the call is being transferred will generate a distinctive ring so the user knows that a transfer is coming. If the receiving handset does not answer the call within 20-30 seconds, the call is sent back to the original handset. A user can also announce the call that is about to be transferred, before the call is connected. Music on hold is standard, simply connect any audio device to the "audio in" jack on the base station.
The handset features a three line 24 character alphanumeric liquid crystal display. Two of the lines are reserved for call statistics and menu functions, and the 3rd line functions as an icon driven user interface (signal strength and battery life are always displayed). The handset display prompts the user with easy to follow steps that help quickly access and use the many options available – also allowing easy customization of the handset to fit a user’s specific needs. Handsets may be programmed with individual user names, useful for distinguishing handsets in a multi-handset system. The back lit keypad will illuminate when any key is pressed or an incoming call/radio call is received. A log of all incoming calls is kept (including call waiting calls)2. The log will record the caller’s phone # and name
3 along with the time of call. When there are phone numbers in the call log, an envelope will appear on the handset display. A closed envelope indicates unread messages, and open envelope indicates all messages have been read. An indicator of how many new entries in the call log appears.
The handset’s advanced Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) constantly measures the signal strength and provides only the power needed for operation (using 15 incremental levels of power). Battery life is further enhanced with the automatic power saving (sleep) mode when the handset is not in use. The included Nimh battery offers 4 hours of talk time or 40 hours of standby. Battery level can constantly be monitored by simply looking at the battery meter on the display. The handset emits a low power warning when battery life is low. The standard dual slot desktop rapid charger (80 minutes) automatically detects battery power level and discharges the battery before charging if necessary. This helps prevent “memory” problems commonly found in rechargeable batteries, and keeps the battery functioning close to top capacity. The front compartment of the charger trickle charges the handset for maximum battery life. The LED on the rapid charger is red while the battery is charging and changes to green after the battery as been fully charged. It is impossible to overcharge the batteries thanks to the “smart” circuitry in the charger.
The 910R handset also features vibration alert. While in vibration mode, the handset will silently alert the user of an incoming call. This feature is particularly useful for meetings and in situations where the user can not hear the phone ring. The hold function is also worthy of discussing - the user may place a call on hold and the handset will beep every 30 seconds to remind the user a call is holding. A 30 number alpha numeric phone book memory is also standard. A list of call timers, four different ring tones (to customize and distinguish handsets), any key answer, extra jack for a TAD (answering machine, fax machine, etc), tone/pulse selection, mute, and flash hook, round out the 910R's superior features.
A lifetime warranty4 is available to protect you from everything from power surges to dropping the handset to theft of the system! The 910R may conceivably be the last cordless phone you will ever buy. |
