The CT 3000 is a perfect choice for the user requiring a long communication range in an area with a lot of hills and valleys, or even mountains. This is the popular model among customers in these areas because the frequency on which the CT3000 operates "bends" with the terrain. This frequency does not have a lot of penetration power (to get through buildings and thick foliage), so this unit is best suited for open spaces. We have a customer who uses this VHF phone in a coal mine. Users can expect a range of up to 35km out of the box, and the range can be increased up to 60km at any time by adding a set of optional linear amplifiers.
The CT3000 utilizes a 1,000,000 code digital security system to ensure your private conversations are kept private. The phone transmits using two different levels of power depending on how close the handset is to the base. When the phone is within close range it will transmit at a lower power, conserving battery life. Another notable feature is the full duplex intercom that allows users to communicate between the base and the handset. An incoming call can be answered during an intercom conversation.
Such features as tone/pulse selection are standard, and last number redial (in the pulse) mode comes in handy. The CT3000 offers a long range at an affordable price. If you need a clear conversation, but not a lot of "bells and whistles," the CT3000 may be a good choice. |
